The Camp Nou, the most social stadium in the world

FC Barcelona’s stadium is named among the top 25 social landmarks in the world according to Facebook. Facebook’s study reaffirms FC Barcelona’s leadership in new technologies and especially on social networks.

The Camp Nou is, according to a recent Facebook study, one of the 25 most social landmarks on the planet. Barça’s stadium is the only football venue that features among the world’s top social landmarks. The study’s findings are based on anonymous aggregated check-in data from nearly one billion actions from Facebook users. Facebook collected data for the study from August of 2010 through May of this year.
Among the world’s top 25 landmarks there are 7 athletic venues, 6 parks, 2 theme parks, 2 concert venues and 2 commercial centers. The athletic venues, besides the Camp Nou, are Chicago Cub’s Wrigley Field and the San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park; Staples Center in Los Angeles, home of the Los Angeles Lakers; Rogers Center in Toronto; Tokyo Dome (baseball) and Eden Park in New Zealand.

Tito makes history with Barça

Tito Vilanova's Barcelona set a new club record 10 games into the season. This incredible run, which has spilled over into the Champions League, means the 'azulgranas' have won 28 out of a 30 possible points following the 3-1 victory over an excellent Celta de Vigo.Celta tried to find the equaliser in the second half, while Barcelona played Bartra in place of Cesc. Villa produced another back-heel that led to Alba scoring in an off-side position (61') and the Camp Nou was surprised when Messi failed to come up with a goal to dedicate to his new-born child, although it wasn't through lack of trying.

Fabregas happy with position in the center of the Barcelona team

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has stated that he is happier playing in a more central role for his club."I felt at home in the position I was playing in, I had more space, I had more of the ball and more passes reached me," he told reporters.

Vilanova now faces the dilemma of who to play in central midfield for the club's next match, whether to stick with Fabregas or bring back playmaker Xavi.

Barcelona is currently preparing for its Champions League fixture against Celtic, which takes place at Camp Nou on Tuesday.
